WSIB Physiotherapy London, Ontario FAQs
Starting physiotherapy rehab early after a workplace injury can help prevent stiffness, muscle weakness, and long-term complications. Early treatment also helps restore normal movement patterns and reduce the risk of chronic discomfort. Many individuals begin treatment within days of reporting their injury and opening a WSIB claim.
The length of treatment depends on the type of injury, its severity, and how your body responds to rehabilitation. Some individuals recover in a few weeks, while others may require a longer program. Your progress is monitored regularly so adjustments can be made to support steady improvement.
For your first visit, it helps to bring your WSIB claim number, any documentation related to your injury, and a list of current symptoms or limitations. Wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy movement can also make your assessment and treatment session more effective and comfortable.
Physiotherapy often includes movement education and strengthening exercises designed to improve stability and reduce strain on vulnerable areas of the body. By learning safer movement patterns and building strength in key muscle groups, many workers are better prepared to handle the physical demands of their job.
Yes. Many workplace injuries develop over time due to repetitive movements, posture strain, or ongoing physical demands.
